Family with children budget find
Took the free shuttle to the train station in the morning, helpful staff were always around. Breakfast was a nice mix of local flavors, rice and pork chop place around the corner was great too.
It wasn’t cheap , but it served its purpose well.

The room had a great setup for just the two of us. Spacious enough with a comfortable double bed made for a cozy stay. I truly appreciated the complimentary breakfast—finding rice, musubi, assorted pickles, and eggs was a real treat to kickstart our mornings. The shuttle service to the JR Station was a lifesaver, especially with our larger luggage. I’d recommend getting to the station early, as it gets busy with business travelers. The air conditioning worked well, and I enjoyed having a window that opened, letting in that lovely October breeze. On the flip side, the room felt a bit dated, especially with the hairdryer and the TV. The bathroom facilities could use some upgrading, too. Internet access wasn’t great either. it lagged sometimes. Staff interactions varied—some were very friendly while others weren’t as helpful. Overall though, I wouldn't hesitate to return on my next visit!

The Japanese breakfast at Toyoko Inn is a game-changer, absolutely delish! Plus, the staff are super friendly and the location downtown makes it easy to hit up local options like Yamanekoken for some ramen action. Can't forget, the rooms are clean and the cost is easy on the wallet!
However, the room I got could've used a deep clean—found some dried-up contact lenses on the table, and the air conditioner was a little grimy. Still, the overall vibe had me feeling right at home.
